1994

A Dream Begins

In 1994, Stephanie Shepherd opened a small beauty salon in Camp Hill with a simple belief—that every person deserved to feel welcomed, cared for and valued. It was a place built on kindness, personal connection and a genuine love of beauty therapy. What began as one therapist with a dream would quietly become the beginning of the Stephanies® journey.

1997

Growing Through Trust

As guests returned and shared their experiences with family and friends, Stephanies® continued to grow. Every new chapter was shaped not by ambition alone, but by the trust of those who chose to return again and again.

2002

A Journey of Excellence

As the years passed, the care and dedication behind every guest experience began to be recognised through state and national industry awards. From 2016 onwards, Stephanies® was also honoured on the international stage, reflecting a quiet commitment to continually learning, evolving and striving for excellence.

2007

Becoming a Luxury Spa Group

The opening of Stephanies® Spa Retreat at Sofitel Brisbane Central marked the beginning of a new chapter. Over time, new destinations followed, each thoughtfully created with the same values that had guided the business from the very beginning—genuine care, meaningful experiences and a commitment to helping every guest feel their very best.

The Stephanies® Collective

Thirty years after the journey began, the Stephanies® Collective was established as a dedicated home for education, innovation, product development and professional growth. It represents our belief that investing in people is one of the most meaningful ways to shape the future of our industry.

Honouring Our Foundations

With decades of professional experience behind us, our skincare collection was thoughtfully reformulated and evolved into Skin Editions™. Combining contemporary skin science with the knowledge gained through caring for thousands of guests, it reflects our commitment to continually refining what we do while remaining true to the personalised care that has always defined Stephanies®.

Every brand has a story. Ours begins with a young woman who believed that caring for people could change the way they felt about themselves. Founder Stephanie Shepherd has dedicated more than four decades to the beauty, spa and wellness industry, building a reputation for exceptional guest care, professional excellence and an unwavering commitment to raising industry standards. Her journey began with a passion for helping people feel confident, nurtured and genuinely cared for. In 1994, that passion became Stephanies®, a boutique salon founded on the belief that luxury should always feel personal. Over the years, Stephanie has continued to guide the evolution of the brand, supported by her husband Des and a passionate team who share the same commitment to excellence, innovation and genuine hospitality. While Stephanies® has grown into a collection of award-winning spa destinations, Stephanie’s vision remains beautifully simple: To create places where every guest feels welcomed, every experience feels personal and every visit leaves people feeling better than when they arrived. The story behind Stephanies® is still being written, and we are honoured to welcome every guest who becomes part of it.
